Seeking help? Let’s meet on Github discussions

Posted on Updated on

Today, this blog received the 1000th comment. I really like to thank many active users for reaching out and asking questions that may not only be relevant to them, but to many others. Dirk and I tried to respond to all commentors as much as our spare time would permit, offering assistance for coding with TopoToolbox. While I like how wordpress enables commenting, there are however several drawbacks. For example, the comments and questions are not well structured, nor searchable. They soon get lost in long lists of comments (like here) that require readers to scroll through endless pages of text that nobody will ever read again. In the long run, this format is not sustainable.

To enable and improve future interactions of the TopoToolbox community, I have set up a Github discussions which you’ll find here. Here, discussions are better structured and will be searchable. To this end, I hope that this will motivate others to involve in the discussions, and to help out each other.

So, meet you on https://github.com/wschwanghart/topotoolbox/discussions.
